God of Life
My Dear Friends in Christ,
As we reflect upon our Lord's Passion, Death, and Resurrection, we are reminded of God's beautiful capacity to redeem even the greatest of tragedies.
Our God so loved the world that He sent His only Son into the darkest place that a human can go to - into utter despair.
Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani?
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? This is not just some average human crying this; it is God Himself! And that is a beautiful thing, because it means that God sent His Son into even our darkest moments so that even there we cannot escape His redemptive Love!
Today, as ever, Christ's salvific Love enters into our darkest moments and brings healing and peace. His redemptive Love takes even our greatest sins and transforms them, bringing life, healing, and forgiveness. The Love of God is so great that He can take even the great evil of abortion and bring forth His mercy and compassion.
Today, I had the privilege of seeing the roses left in memoriam to the lives lost to abortion. This beautiful ceremony, hosted by Path of Life and with the kind permission of Salvation Army, stands as an act of hope, love, and trust in the face of the darkness of sin and death.
There is no evil that God cannot overcome; no tragedy he cannot transform; no force on earth that is greater than the God who
Love! Thus we hope in the Resurrection, for our God is a God of Life, and death itself is overcome in His total victory!
We place our faith in the God whose endless mercy shall wipe away all tears! We trust in the God whose Love shatters the shackles of sin and death! Our God is a liberator, Who can forgive any sin, heal any wound, console any sorrowing soul! We rejoice in the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ, for by His Death and Resurrection, He has redeemed whole of the world and all us sinners therein!
And that, my dear friends, is worth celebrating!
May God bless you and yours as we prepare for this Paschal Feast.
