Catholic School Collection raises 114k for local parochial schools

In 2018, Bishop Thomas Daly founded the annual Bishop’s Collection for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Spokane. During Catholic Schools Week (January 29-February 4), envelopes were mailed out, and the basket was passed at parishes across the diocese to raise funds for Catholic education in the diocese.

This year, the Diocese of Spokane is pleased to announce that through the generous gifts of the faithful in the diocese, $114,499.97 was collected from the weekend and will be distributed to each parochial school in the diocese.

As there are 13 different parochial grade schools in the diocese, each school will receive a total of $8,807.69.

Bishop Daly would like to thank all those who support Catholic education in the Diocese of Spokane through this collection and otherwise.

‘Pentecost 2023’ to be available at parishes, mailboxes this week

The newest issue of Inland Catholic magazine has been printed and shipped to parishes this week. Each church should have several copies and be available by Mass this weekend or next.

This issue, Pentecost 2023 is themed ‘healing’ and features many local stories and essays reflecting on the life of prayer for this season of Pentecost. This issue features stories about cancer, healing from abortion, a NW architect-religious sister, an interview with a Catholic counselor, the vocation story of Fr. Stan Malnar, MD and more.

Please speak with parish secretaries or pastors if you cannot locate copies at your local parish. Subscribers and all supporters of the Annual Catholic Appeal (from the last 3 years) will receive a copy to their mailbox.

**Last Week to Register - Quo Vadis Days: high school boys Catholic summer camp**

Quo Vadis Days is a summer camp run by priests and seminarians of the diocese for young men in high school. At camp, the men will encounter Jesus Christ in sacraments, prayer and fraternity and grow into the man Jesus calls them to be. Registration is FREE due to the generous support of benefactors.

Camp Dates: Tuesday, June 27 to Friday, June 30, 2023
